The Stoner family called us when it was time to upgrade their outdated heating and cooling system. They didn’t want to a spend a summer in discomfort because their HVAC system wasn’t keeping the home comfortable.
Their large, historic home in Weston presented challenges beyond outdated equipment. Some of the ductwork had been worked on a decade ago and some more than 30 years ago.
The master bedroom in particular wasn’t getting the airflow it needed to keep the homeowners cool during hot Missouri summers, and none of the ductwork in the home was doing its job at maximum efficiency.
We took a multifaceted approach to ensuring the family had maximum comfort during the summer. We recreated parts of the duct system that provided the most value, and added return air vents on the second floor. To create the most cooling efficiency, we installed separate Trane comfort systems for the second and third floors. Additional duct work changes were made to accommodate them. These improvements mean that every room of the Stoner home now has a consistent feel – and the family couldn’t be happier with our professional technicians and the results they achieved.
“These guys are great – very professional and careful to not oversell! They’re very focused on solving problems! I was extremely pleased with what they did. We liked their work so well we had them install a new system in our rental home as well.”
Our technician in the St. Joseph area called and worked through the issue quickly with Tim.
The technician was able to repair the existing system, saving the homeowner from purchasing a new system.
“The service was excellent, very fast and the tech explained everything very clearly. He didn’t try to sugar coat, and he didn’t pile it on either.”
“I would definitely recommend Schomburg Heating and Cooling to anyone.”
When the air conditioning went out during the long hot July summer of 2012 at the Polsky home in Savannah, Missouri, Sandy placed an urgent call to us. The call was routed to Rob, the closest service technician, who then returned the call to determine the problem and hopefully, the solution, so the family could sleep in the home. The temperature that day was hovering around 100 degrees, typical for that week in July. Sandy describes the situation below.
“When Rob arrived, he determined that it was indeed the Thermostat, as he had thought. He priced several replacements for me . He was so darn patient with me as I reviewed the options. He seemed so earnest and honest the whole time. When he installed the Thermostat everything worked perfectly. He checked back the third day to make sure we were still comfortable!”
“We have used Schomburg Heating and Cooling before for our stove and will continue to use this company for our heating and cooling as well as our appliance repairs ….and also for their honesty and professionalism.”
Our clients, the Van Fossons, built an addition onto the back of their home to create a new entertainment area. When they realized their home’s heating and air conditioning systems were no longer was sufficient for their needs, we helped them find the best HVAC solution for their home, at the best price.
“We had planned for five years to do an addition on our home to accommodate our growing family and our love of cooking. When we requested quotes for a new HVAC system, Schomburg Heating and Cooling was quick to respond and very informative about the latest and greatest equipment available.”
“We were very comfortable talking with the company representative and pleased with the quote supplied by them. We felt confident that we would get the best equipment and customer service from them. The customer service is a very important piece of the deal.”
“We have been enjoying our new space for about 5 months now and are extremely happy with our choice.”
Upgrade – Platte City Project
A year ago November we received an emergency repair call for a non-functioning furnace. We arrived onsite within a few hours. The tests we ran showed we could fix it so it would work, but unfortunately could fix the cracked heat exchanger, which was leaking small (and safe) amounts of carbon monoxide.
We got the furnace working with a few hours and restored heat to the family home. While an additional test a week later did not reveal problem levels of carbon monoxide leaking, the family decided on a new, safer heating and cooling system. We installed a high efficiency air conditioner and furnace the next week.
A year later, the family shows significant savings on their gas and electricity bills every month since installing it.
Jim, in Platte City, says, “Our new heating and AC system from Schomburg has provided more even heating and cooling in our house and is saving us about 20% over the old system.”
